Termite Control in Frisco, McKinney, and More!
Formosan termite colonies are much larger (containing about ten times the number) than native termite colonies. They are also more aggressive. When they do invade a home, they inflict more damage because of their greater numbers. The main reason that Formosan termites are much worse to have in your home is that they can nest above ground if sufficient moisture, food and a suitable environment exists. This enables them to go unnoticed for long periods of time causing thousands of dollars of damage.
Currently there are 19 counties in Texas that have been positively identified as having an infestation of Formosan Termites. The majority of the sightings are along the Gulf coast with scattered sightings inland. The sightings inland are due to the transportation of infested soils or materials. Early detection is key in successful Formosan treatments. Using baits and liquid treatments will be the most effective strategies in eliminating these costly pests before they reach more inaccessible areas of your home.
